This was the first week I didn’t wear socks! While I had cold toes at times, the fact that socks are banished to my dresser makes me ridiculously happy.* The other thing that made me happy was receiving our little family illustration in the mail. Mandy Cave made this portrait for us and she is wonderful. She was featured last month on Design Sponge and I jumped and ordered something. Compared to other family portrait illustrators, she doesn’t paint directly off a photo – rather she asks you to send her many photos and you tell her what you’d want to wear, expression, poses, etc. Her communication is excellent and she is great to work with. I am very pleased. She has since increased her prices, which I think she rightfully did, because the work she does is so customized to what you want. We love it and our little family sits proud on our gallery ledge in our living room.
*We have a snow/ice pellet storm today – but I still didn’t wear socks – fuzzy boots are quite nice on bare feet (stubborn that way).
